Cards hit 4 HRs to help Flaherty in 14-3 prevail upon Braves

         
ATLANTA (AP) — It was hard for Jack Flaherty to appreciate a runaway win over Atlanta since he couldn't evade one awful inning.

Flaherty didn't need to stress. His St. Louis partners roughed up Braves pitching throughout the night.
St. Louis hit four grand slams, including three-run shots by Marcell Ozuna , Yadier Molina and Kolten Wong, and the Cardinals beat battling right-hander Mike Foltynewicz and the Braves 14-3 on Tuesday.

Flaherty (4-3) did not permit a hit through four innings. St. Louis drove 11-0 preceding Flaherty surrendered three runs and three hits in the fifth.

"Another long inning," Flaherty stated, including "I must avoid that."
Cardinals supervisor Mike Schildt permitted Flaherty to stay in the diversion and end on a good note with an ideal 6th inning.
